Students, including ELLs, who are purposefully engaged in age-appropriate, meaningful, and challenging instructional activities will learn. In this workshop, participants will engage in several activities that can be used across grade levels and content areas that are inclusive of and engage all students, regardless of English proficiency level. Strategies for scaffolding activities to consider individual needs and grading ideas will be shared. Organizational structures for collecting information about student engagement and performance will be shared that will help to guide teachers in planning subsequent instruction.
