In this workshop, participants will discuss how Guided Reading instruction relates to the specific needs of ELLs. Participants will explore traditional guided reading practices and how they can be differentiated for ELLs with developing language proficiency. Participants will also learn how reading assessments might look different for ELL students, and which appropriate assessment modifications can be made when assessing ELLs reading levels. Participants will work with a guided reading lesson designed for ELL/MLL students and learn strategies they can immediately implement in their classrooms.
NOTE: Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet or Chromebook.
