The NYSITELL is the tool used for the identification of students as English Language Learners (ELLs). This workshop is designed to train participants in the administration of the NYSITELL (which must be administered in person; there is no virtual option.) The NYSITELL must be administered by qualified personnel (NYS certified TESOL, bilingual teachers, administrators or NYS certified teachers who have been trained in language acquisition and culturally responsive practices.) This training is appropriate for anyone who would like to review NYSITELL administration procedures. This session will also include details about the ELL Identification process and timelines that are currently in place as a result of school closures and reopenings, as well as a review of the regular process and timeline.
Registered participants will receive a link via email on Friday morning with the Zoom connection information.
