NYSITELL Administration - ONLINE Course - September 22 through October 30, 2020

The NYSITELL is the tool used for the identification of students as English Language Learners (ELLs). This workshop is designed to train participants in the administration of the NYSITELL (which must be administered in person; there is no virtual option.) The NYSITELL must be administered by qualified personnel (NYS certified TESOL, bilingual teachers, administrators or NYS certified teachers who have been trained in language acquisition and culturally responsive practices.) This training is appropriate for anyone who would like to review NYSITELL administration procedures. This session will also include details about the ELL Identification process and timelines that are currently in place as a result of school closures and reopenings, as well as a review of the regular process and timeline.

Open Enrollment begins Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Participants can enroll anytime between September 22 and October 30, 2020. Once registered, participants will receive a link for accessing the Online Course.

Q&A Session: Thursday, October 1, 2020 - 3:30-4:30 PM. Registrants will receive Zoom information prior to the start of the session. Additional synchronous Q&A sessions will be available for registered participants.

CTLE credit will be earned after participants complete a quiz.

The estimated amount of time needed to complete this course is approximately 3 hours, which includes your quiz time.
