WIT 102 - the Paragraph - For Teachers of English Learners in Grades 3-12 - May 1 through May 12, 2023 - via Zoom

PRE-REQUISITE: ANY PREVIOUS WIT 101 COURSE

Writing is Thinking (WIT) involves explicit instruction in foundational writing and literacy skills to develop students' written and oral language, content knowledge and reading comprehension simultaneously. WIT is especially powerful for English learners because it also teaches how the English language works. This intermediate workshop focuses on supporting students with varying levels of proficiency in English to engage in note-taking and to write strong expository paragraphs. The workshop is hands-on; participants will leave with activities they can use immediately with students.

Session 1 - May 1st, 9:00am-3:00pm
Session 2 - May 5th, 9:00am-3:00pm
Session 3 - May 12th, 9:00am-3:00pm

Participants MUST be enrolled in the series by noon on Friday, April 28, 2023.

To access this workshop, registered participants will receive a Zoom link in the afternoon of the workday prior to each session.
