Bridging for Biliteracy, Part 1: Understanding the Bridge - at Port Chester-Rye UFSD

  • John F. Kennedy Elementary School Library 40 Olivia Street Port Chester, NY, 10573 United States (map)

This foundational workshop introduces educators to Bridging, a key component of the Center for Teaching for Biliteracy's Framework. Participants will explore what bridging is, its role in dual language instruction, and how it looks in the classroom. Through guided discussions and classroom examples, educators will analyze how the Bridge supports cross-linguistic transfer, metalinguistic awareness, and biliteracy development. By the end of the session, participants will have a clear understanding of the principles of Bridging and be prepared to apply them in their own classrooms.

Participants should bring a device to access workshop materials.
