Currently, there are over 11.4 million undocumented immigrants residing and working in communities throughout the United States. These individuals have, on average, lived in the country for 16 years and play vital roles as parents, grandparents, and siblings to an additional 10.2 million family members.
According to recent data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents encountered approximately 16,182 migrants per day in January 2023. Notably, during the same period, the number of children and families seeking to enter the U.S. more than doubled.
This workshop will help to build awareness of the various experiences of students and families, specifically undocumented immigrants.
Participants should bring a device to access workshop materials.
