Formative and Summative Assessment Strategies for ELLs/MLLs - at Southern Westchester BOCES
January 25, 2024, 9:00-3:00 PM

Assessment is an integral component of education, as it guides instruction and provides opportunities for feedback to educators and students.

We have summative and interim assessments that provide a snapshot of student performance during a moment in time, such as state assessments and locally-administered benchmarks. We also have daily formative assessments, which provide feedback on teaching and learning in real time.

During this workshop, participants will learn strategies to help ELLs/MLLs navigate summative assessments, as well as formative assessment strategies to assist teachers in their daily understanding of student performance.
