In this four-week online, flipped course, educators will brush up on basic classroom-related conversational Spanish in order to support students who are Spanish speakers. Participants will independently review vocabulary and phrases related to the weekly topic prior to joining the weekly conversation. The weekly conversation will be synchronous and virtual, allowing participants to practice in Spanish.
Additionally, we will review basic phrases and questions in Spanish, review vocabulary related to classroom and school routines, and practice communicating with families.
Participants should have, at minimum, some familiarity with Spanish. Si comprende esta oración, estará bien en este curso.
Synchronous sessions are scheduled from 9:00-10:30am on Mondays: July 13, 20, 27, and August 3, 2020.
Participants will receive 10 CTLE hours, 4 of which are for "guided independent study" and 6 for the synchronous sessions.
Registered participants will receive an email with the Zoom conference call information prior to each of the conference calls. Upon completion of each of the calls, registered participants will receive a link to a feedback form; completion of the feedback form will confirm your attendance for credit at each of the sessions.
