When an ELL student is struggling academically, it can be challenging to determine if it is due to a linguistic difference or a disability. This workshop will explore how educators can examine and carefully distinguish if language acquisition, cultural and linguistic diversity, gaps in learning, or an actual disability or disorder is at the root cause. We will identify factors that must be considered in developing a district protocol prior to referring an ELL student for a Special Education evaluation.
Zoom access information will be shared to your MLP email address within 24 hours of the course start time.
