Teaching Assistants play an integral role in supporting students throughout school settings; making connections to students, helping them feel comfortable, and reinforcing routines and instruction. English Language Learners (ELLs) in our classrooms benefit from specialized support to help them reach instructional goals while gaining proficiency in English. As a result of this workshop, Teaching Assistants will gain an understanding of the role of the students' home language and will explore strategies for supporting ELLs with acclimation to classroom routines, developing communication skills in English, and reinforcing instruction.
There is a one hour-long pre-recorded webinar and course materials to explore and review that are linked to the slide deck. Upon successful completion of a quiz, 3 CTLE hours will be awarded.
Course materials will be emailed the morning of Wednesday, October 12, 2022 to those who register in MLP to the email addresses they used to enroll in Frontline (MLP).
Please register by Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
