WestEd, a non-profit educational research organization, is currently working on a number of research projects related to special education and the use of educational technology. Specifically, they are looking for child/parent pairs that meet the following criteria:

  • Children with special needs who are currently in 5-12th grade and who regularly uses text-to-speech technology at school or at home. Students who qualify include those with special needs such as visual impairment, cerebral palsy, and more.
  • Families who are fluent in English, but where a different language is spoken at home. One of the following languages are preferred: Spanish, Mandarin, or a language spoken in India.

Students and parents must be able to participate in a video call session, and families will receive $150 for the 1.5-hour session.

Parents who are interested in learning more about these studies are invited to fill out a brief interest form here: https://goo.gl/WYhFd7. There are limited spots available for these studies, so please complete the interest form as soon as possible. Email swarner@wested.org if you have any questions or would like more information. If you are selected to participate in one of the studies, a WestEd staff member will reach out to you.
