HV RBERN Update

Happy New Year!

HV RBERN Professional Development

We will continue to bring together educators of ELLs during our ELL Connection virtual meetups in 2021. Each month, we bring together elementary and secondary educators of ELLs to share ideas, crowdsource questions, and talk about supporting students who are ELLs. The links for the January sessions are below. Click here to view and register for future sessions and to view the HV RBERN Events Calendar.

Registration: January 3 - 10, 2021

For five weeks in January and February, TESOL experts and participants from around the world will engage in collaborative online discussions or hands-on virtual workshops of professional and scholarly benefit. These sessions will bring participants together for a longer period of time than would be permitted by land-based professional development conventions and will allow a fuller development of ideas than is otherwise possible.

Sessions are free and open to anyone around the globe. It is not necessary to be a TESOL or IATEFL member nor to attend the TESOL. For more information click here.

Get recommended for NYS certification to teach Grades 1-6 through the 17-credit, NYSED-approved LIU Hudson Online Advanced Certificate in Childhood Education for ENL teachers.

You’ll receive a 45% tuition reduction when you join LIU Hudson’s 8th cohort, which starts January 19, 2021 with two courses. Continue with two courses in the Summer term and finish in Fall 2021.

Classes will be led by teachers experienced at both the K-12 and university levels who have undergone rigorous training in online instruction. Classes will be online and offered asynchronously, and will include many opportunities to engage interactively with classmates and instructors.

Please note: Prospective students must be ESOL-certified teachers who already hold a Master’s Degree.
