The HV RBERN will be running a virtual professional development All Teachers are Teachers of ELLs PD Camp from June 1 through June 30, 2021 to support educators as they continue to build capacity in meeting the needs of ELLs in their schools and classrooms. The camp will feature multiple workshops on ELL-related topics; participants will select workshops that best meet their needs. This camp is open to all district and school administrators, classroom and content area teachers, ENL teachers, bilingual education teachers, teaching assistants, and other school personnel. Successful completion of individual workshops will result in CTLE credits; credits per workshop will vary. Further information for accessing individual workshops will be provided to those who register for the camp via this MLP link.

NYSED
English Language Learner (ELL) and Immigrant Student Counts for 2021–22 ESSA Title III Allocations
NYSED has released a memo to inform all LEAs to update and/or verify their counts of English Language Learners (ELLs), including provisionally-identified ELLs, and immigrant students in the Student Information Repository System (SIRS) beginning the week of May 10, 2021 through the week of June 11, 2021. NYSED will use these counts to calculate the allocations to LEAs for 2021-2022 ESSA Title III ELL and Immigrant funds.
Title III ELL and Immigrant allocations will be posted in July 2021 at Allocations, Poverty Data, and Student Counts.

NYSABE
On Monday, May 17, 2021, the NYC RBERN will be presenting a workshop at the NYSABE Parent Institute (FREE) on Roadmap to College (parents' role in application process, financial aid for documented and undocumented). There will be sessions in each language separately: English, Spanish, Haitian, Chinese, Russian. There will also be a session on NYSESLAT in English and Spanish, as well as other events. Parents must register to attend.
