Participants will select workshop topics that meet their needs related to supporting linguistically diverse students and have the opportunity to earn up to 20 CTLE credits. In this session, a comprehensive model that creates the necessary conditions for students to develop high levels of biliteracy over time will be explored.
In this session, the many benefits of using cross-linguistic connections to build students' meta-bilingual awareness, bilingualism, and biliteracy will be discussed and a few instructional strategies that help students build meta-bilingual awareness and facilitate Spanish-English cross-linguistic transfer will be explored.
