Office of State Assessment
NYSITELL Update
The Office of State Assessment (OSA) has been notified that the Level V, L/R/W test booklets shipped in September 2023 contain a printing error. This error only occurred in the Level V L/R/W test booklets.
Please identify and securely destroy all of the Level V, L/R/W test booklets received this month (these booklets can be identified by viewing page 5; teacher directions appear rather than questions 4-6). OSA will immediately ship replacement test booklets for Level V, L/R/W to your school; these materials should arrive in the coming days.
Please do not destroy any other 2018 editions of the NYSITELL as the new shipment will only contain the quantity of Level V, L/R/W test booklets equal to your most recent order. Schools should keep the Speaking Test Booklets and the Directions for Administration (DFA) for Speaking and Listening/Reading/Writing for the Level V NYSITELL.
Please share this information with all staff responsible for administering the Level V NYSITELL.
Questions about this information can be directed to OSA at (518) 474-5902 or emscassessinfo@nysed.gov.
