Share Your Needs & Feedback about our Conversational Spanish for Educators Course
We kindly invite those who are interested in learning essential Spanish communication skills for interacting with Spanish-speaking students, parents, and school personnel to complete our needs assessment linked below. We are currently planning future virtual courses for the Fall of 2024 and Spring of 2025 to help educators bridge the language gap and effectively communicate within their school communities.
Take our brief survey and share your needs and preferences to help us continue to deliver an impactful and valuable course. Your feedback is crucial in shaping the course details and ensuring it meets your goals.

English Language Learner (ELL) and Immigrant Student Counts for 2024–25 ESSA Title III Allocations
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is preparing to calculate the 2024-25 ESSA Title III allocations to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) for English Language Learners (ELL) and immigrant students that are based on the number of ELL and immigrant students in each LEA in the 2023-24 school year.
NYSED must have accurate counts of ELL and immigrant students for this determination.
A verification report is available in the L2RPT reporting environment to allow LEAs to verify counts of ELL and immigrant students enrolled at public LEAs. Counts of ELL and immigrant students attending nonpublic schools will be verified through the IDEx reporting tool.
The timeline for LEAs’ review and verification of student counts, data extraction, and posting of the Title III ELL and immigrant student counts is specified in the attached memo.
LEAs should work with nonpublic schools to ensure that inaccurate data are corrected. The corrected Fall 2023 BEDS Report of Nonpublic Schools forms should be emailed to the Office of Information and Reporting Services (IRS) at datasupport@nysed.gov.
Questions concerning nonpublic ELL and immigrant corrections may be directed to datasupport@nysed.gov.
If you have any questions regarding these procedures, please contact the Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages at obewl@nysed.gov or (518) 474-8775.
