In the event of delays or cancellations of workshops tomorrow, 3/21, we will indicate any changes to the schedule in the banner on our website. Additionally: 

NYSESLAT at SW BOCES: In the event of a delay at SW BOCES, tomorrow, 3/21, the NYSESLAT workshop, scheduled for the morning, will be moved to the afternoon and will begin at noon. The status of SW BOCES is available at www.swboces.org. We will reschedule to 3/27 at 9:00 am in the event of a cancellation. If you are unable to make it to the rescheduled date, please see our website for other dates and locations for NYSESLAT training. We will also send an email update to registered participants.

SIFE Math at Rockland BOCES is cancelled tomorrow, 3/21. We will reschedule and share the new date ASAP.

This workshop will combine direct and indirect instructional practices that have been identified in research as effective for building student vocabulary in any content area. Participants will engage in learning why vocabulary development is critical, how to identify key vocabulary from your content and how to teach vocabulary using a variety of instructional routines. Students benefit from a consistent approach to vocabulary instruction, as part of your instructional routines, focusing on activities that foster listening, speaking, reading and writing in English.

  • Due to high demand, we are offering another session of Enhancing ENL Instructional Planning Using Targeted NYSESLAT Data at Rockland BOCES on Friday, October 13th, 2017. Participants will analyze NYSESLAT modality data to purposefully target instruction across NYSESLAT proficiency levels.
