Join an ELL-focused educational leadership (SBL/SDL) cohort in Westchester!

CLASS for ELLs - offered in collaboration with the Hudson Valley RBERN and the Hunter College School of Education

Collaborative Leadership to Advance Student Success (CLASS) is an innovative, hands-on leadership development program. Candidates work collaboratively and learn by doing to improve outcomes for historically underserved students and to lead improvements in the systems and structures that have perpetuated inequality and unequal performance. This cohort will place a special focus on English learners on developing the knowledge and skills needed to lead improvements with this population, as well as to learn from a close study of English learners what it takes to improve learning and performance for all students. OBEWL is proud to co-sponsor with the New York State Association of World Language Administrators (NYSAWLA) a free, online workshop for World Language educators entitled Embedding Authentic Resources into Lesson Plans. This workshop, presented by Leslie Grahn, will be offered via Zoom on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Registration is now live and can be accessed using this link. Electronic Village Online (EVO) 2021
January 11 - February 14, 2021
Registration: January 3 - 10, 2021

For five weeks in January and February, TESOL experts and participants from around the world will engage in collaborative online discussions or hands-on virtual workshops of professional and scholarly benefit. These sessions will bring participants together for a longer period of time than would be permitted by land-based professional development conventions and will allow a fuller development of ideas than is otherwise possible.

Sessions are free and open to anyone around the globe. It is not necessary to be a TESOL or IATEFL member nor to attend the TESOL. For more information click here.

Get recommended for NYS certification to teach Grades 1-6 through the 17-credit, NYSED-approved LIU Hudson Online Advanced Certificate in Childhood Education for ENL teachers.

You’ll receive a 45% tuition reduction when you join LIU Hudson’s 8th cohort, which starts January 19, 2021 with two courses. Continue with two courses in the Summer term and finish in Fall 2021.

Classes will be led by teachers experienced at both the K-12 and university levels who have undergone rigorous training in online instruction. Classes will be online and offered asynchronously, and will include many opportunities to engage interactively with classmates and instructors.

Please note: Prospective students must be ESOL-certified teachers who already hold a Master’s Degree.
